YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS ACCOUNTANT:
* Manage full-cycle AP and AR, including entry, verification, and tracking of 300+ invoices monthly
* Process payments (cheque and EFT) and ensure accurate records of transactions
* Oversee payroll for 25–30 hourly employees, with potential to implement payroll integration in accounting software
* Track project and job costs, ensuring accurate expense allocation and reporting
* Assist with purchase order processing in collaboration with internal team
* Support preparation of tax filings (GST/PST) and coordinate with external accountants for year-end
* Maintain accurate, organized records across both digital and paper systems
* Provide oversight of invoices for accuracy (not creation, but verification)
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN AN ACCOUNTANT:
* 3–5 years of full-cycle accounting experience
* Background in construction, prefab, or related B2B industries strongly preferred
* Familiarity with QuickBooks Online; experience with AccountEdge is an asset
* Strong understanding of payroll, AP/AR, job costing, and tax compliance
* Experience handling collections in a construction setting is an asset
* Excellent organizational skills, with attention to accuracy and detail
* A collaborative, positive approach – we value good morals, reliability, and a willingness to learn and grow
