KEY RESPOSIBILITIES
Design with members at the centre
* Design intuitive experiences working closely with UI designers across the corporate website and mobile platforms, including the member portal
* Translate complex insurance and health information into clear, usable interfaces
* Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs
* Apply human-centred design principles with a strong focus on usability and empathy
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
* Degree or diploma in UX Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or equivalent experience (optional)
* 3+ years of professional UX design experience with SW development background understanding
* A strong portfolio demonstrating user-centred problem solving
* Hands-on experience with UX research and usability testing
* Solid understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG)
* Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD)
* Typescript APIs, HTML, Webflow, Jira, Confluence, AWS
* Strong communication and collaboration skills

* Plan and conduct UX research (interviews, usability testing, surveys)
* Synthesize research findings into clear, actionable insights
* Validate design decisions through iterative testing and refinement
* Use qualitative and quantitative data to continuously improve experiences
Build accessible and inclusive experiences
* Design to WCAG 2.1 / 2.2 Level AA accessibility standards
* Advocate for inclusive design across digital products
* Support users with diverse abilities, languages, and levels of digital confidence
* Partner with developers to ensure accessibility is built—not bolted on
* AMA (Accessibility for Manitobans Act)
Collaborate across teams
* Work closely with product managers, developers, business stakeholders, legal, and compliance
* Clearly communicate design rationale and user needs non-design audiences
* Balance member needs with technical, business, and regulatory constraints
* Contribute to shared UX standards and best practices
