YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
* Legal Advisory: Partner with technology, sales, and business teams to provide guidance on complex commercial and technology-related matters.
* Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a range of agreements including software, cloud services, data/AI, licensing, vendor, and client contracts (e.g., NDAs, MSAs, SOWs, RFPs).
* Strategic Negotiation: Lead negotiations, assess legal risks, and develop creative, business-aligned solutions.
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Build trusted relationships with internal teams, external partners, and advisors.
* Compliance & Best Practices: Monitor regulatory changes, industry trends, and update legal templates, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and innovation.
* Legal Operations Support: Provide legal input on internal processes, vendor risk, training, and technology-related initiatives.
* External Counsel Management: Coordinate with external legal advisors as needed.
* Special Projects: Contribute to strategic initiatives and projects that advance business goals and objectives.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
* 8+ years of post-call legal experience in a law firm or corporate in-house role.
* Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) or Juris Doctor (J.D.). from an accredited Canadian university; licensed in Manitoba (or eligible for transfer).
* Deep knowledge of technology and commercial law; experience in payroll or financial services is an asset.
* Strong negotiation, analytical, and business acumen.
* Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, progressive, evolving environment.
* Excellent communication, relationship-building, and collaboration skills.
* Commitment to ongoing learning and development.
* Bilingualism (French/English) is a plus.
