We’re hiring on behalf of a well-established Winnipeg Metal Fabricator and Manufacturer seeking a Senior Buyer/Purchasing Manager with a strong understanding of purchasing principles and deep expertise in industrial manufacturing and fabrication processes—including machining, welding, and powder coating. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES 
* Lead procurement and purchasing of raw materials and hardware (e.g., sheet metal, tubing, powder coat, welding supplies, fasteners).
* Build and maintain supplier relationships to ensure quality, pricing, and timely delivery.
* Drive supplier strategy, including onboarding, auditing, and price negotiations.
* Prepare bid packages and lead negotiations to secure favorable terms.
* Oversee purchasing team and provide guidance for further development
* Manage supplier contracts and pursue cost-saving initiatives.
* Coordinate inventory planning and accuracy across monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles.
* Partner with Accounting to analyze material and production costs.
* Collaborate across departments (Sales, Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing) to support supplier and material transitions.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR 
* 3+ years’ experience in a progressive purchasing, supply chain, or strategic sourcing position - ideally in industrial or steel manufacturing.
* Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management is an asset.
* Demonstrated expertise in sourcing suppliers, contract negotiation, and supplier performance.
* Familiarity with ERP systems is required.
* Hands-on understanding of manufacturing operations and materials flow.
* Proven leadership skills and ability to drive change in fast-paced environments.
