The Safety and Health Manager plays a key leadership role in driving compliance and fostering a proactive, safety-first culture. This position leads the safety team and works closely with leadership, employees, union representatives, and contractors to address safety issues, support safe operations, and ensure adherence to all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS SAFETY & HEALTH MANAGER:
* Lead and develop the Health and Safety team, supporting projects and operations to achieve compliance and safety excellence.
* Develop, update, and implement Health and Safety policies, procedures, and programs.
* Provide guidance and coaching to managers, supervisors, engineers, and the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) to build strong safety practices.
* Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable provincial legislation and regulations.
* Lead injury investigations, determine and conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective action to reduce incidents.
* Track, analyze, and report safety performance metrics while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
* Serve as Emergency Response Coordinator, ensuring preparedness and continuity planning.
* Administer and maintain Made Safe – Safe Work Certification; conduct internal audits and liaise with external auditors.
* Co-chair the Workplace Health and Safety Committee and ensure all requirements are met.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN A SAFETY & HEALTH MANAGER:
* Minimum 3 years of leadership experience with a collaborative, team-focused approach.
* 3–5 years of practical experience embedding health and safety into operational processes.
* 2–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong background in incident investigation, workplace inspections, and hazard analysis.
* Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Sciences, or related discipline.
* Diploma/Certification in Occupational Health and Safety.
* Professional designations (CRSP, CRST, CHSC) or actively working toward completion.
