Project Manage the relocation and development of a downtown Winnipeg commercial space. Our client is a province-wide organization that provides representation and services to low-income individuals and public interest groups.

This is an initial 6-month term role. The Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for developing a work environment for multiple independent organizations that will provide independent work areas as well as common shared space. The PM will report to a committee and be accountable for meeting budget and milestones.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
* End-to-End Development: Lead the project from shell space to final occupancy, managing common shared areas, reception, boardrooms, secure interview rooms, and specialized facilities (e.g., server rooms and culturally vented smudging spaces).
* Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between multiple independent organizations (IOs), ensuring their specific needs are met while managing expectations regarding budget, design, and deadlines.
* Vendor Coordination: Contract and oversee real estate agents, landlords, general contractors (GCs), and furniture/tech vendors.
* Cultural Leadership: Navigate the "massive cultural shift" of moving teams into a shared environment; proactively identifying and resolving resistance or misalignment.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs and construction meet the Manitoba Building Code, The Accessibility for Manitobans Act (AMA), and Universal Design principles.
* Relocation Oversight: Coordinate the physical move and seamless transition of all organizations into the new facility.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
* 5+ years of progressive project management experience in cross-functional, multi-stakeholder environments.
* Proven track record in Commercial Development, Public Sector, or Co-working space projects.
* Experience applying Universal Design principles and working with diverse communities (Indigenous, newcomers, or persons with disabilities).
Leadership & Communication
* Change Management: Ability to lead teams through complex transitions and build trust without formal authority.
* High Emotional Intelligence: Skilled at reading participant dynamics and adapting leadership styles to resolve conflict.
* Facilitation: Excellent verbal and written skills; able to lead productive, outcome-focused discussions with diverse groups.
Technical & Professional
* Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) and/or LEED certification are highly preferred.
* Methodologies: Working knowledge of Agile, Hybrid, or Traditional project delivery models.
* Tooling: Proficiency in modern project management and collaboration software.
