YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS PRODUCTION MANAGER (AFTERNOONS):
* Plan, organize, schedule, and maintain the activities of the department to meet daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
* Maintain a thorough knowledge of the work process within your department and ensure that all personnel are completing the task in accordance with best practices and in a timely manner.
* Utilize the necessary tools to collect and record the proper information for measuring productivity and quality-related issues (updating and maintaining production visual boards).
* Manage a team of production employees to ensure the department meets its targets. Ensure corrective actions are taken when necessary.
* Ensure all employees are trained to complete tasks on hand and to cross train employees to minimize or eliminate potential bottlenecks.
* Monitor production team performance and identify opportunities for improvement. Where process deficiencies exist, provide leadership in terms of generating solutions for the identified deficiency.
* Be the catalyst for production-oriented improvement initiatives and consistently seek out ways to improve production operations.
* Review all non-conformances generated in the area of responsibility. Participate in the development and implementation of corrective action. Complete non-conformances ensuring that the solution is sufficient, sustainable, and fully implemented within the production department.
* Communicate any engineering or drafting problems in a timely and efficient manner to resolve issues.
* Assist operators with technical problems or, when absolutely required, get involved with production.
