YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS A GENERAL MANAGER:
* Collaborate with the board of directors to establish an annual business plan to support membership and program growth, advertising, fundraisers, budget allocations and financial management.
* Support seasonal sport registration to ensure programming organization and to mitigate issues
* Nurture strong relationships with stakeholders, including members, community and business groups, provincial authorities, and federal bodies.
* Oversee day to day operations, human resources (labour relations), finance and admin functions, support program management, program development, and facilities.
* Represent/promote the organization within the community.
* Spearhead fundraising campaigns and grant writing proposals.
* Support the board in planning, execution, and evaluation of special projects.
* Attend and participate in Community Centre Committee and Board meetings.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN A GENERAL MANAGER:
* 5+ years of leadership and management experience in the not-for-profit sector; community centre an asset
* Post-secondary education in Recreation Management, Business, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
* Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and grow the organization’s programming and membership
* Experience with advocating and/or or lobbying all levels of government and writing grant proposals
* Track record of leadership success and accountability within the not-for-profit sector
* Proven ability to lead a board-run organization and collaborate with members
* Community driven, strategic, and above all else, high integrity
