YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS AN ESTIMATOR:
* Review construction drawings and plans to determine the scope of work and materials needed
* Obtain pricing and quotes on labour and materials from subcontractors and suppliers
* Create and complete material take-offs to verify quantities
* Monitor and track estimates to uncover variances
* Review invoices and cross reference them with the original quotes
* Oversee timelines and material delivery to ensure labour schedules are met
* Create and maintain trace contact lists
* Collaborate with Site Supervisors and Construction Managers to ensure project materials and trades are scheduled appropriately
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN AN ESTIMATOR:
* At least 1 year of Construction Estimating experience in residential or commercial construction, or the building materials industry
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
* General knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing
* Ability to read and understand construction drawings, purchase orders, and contracts
* Excellent organizational and decision-making skills
