The Director will serve as Rady JCC’s Chief Financial Officer, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. This key leadership role oversees all financial and administrative functions of the organization, including accounting, budgeting, financial planning and reporting, external audits, investments, human resources, and information systems.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION:
* Direct all aspects of the organization's accounting and financial reporting functions, including general ledger, financial statements, accounts payable/receivable, billing and collections, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
* Lead the development and monitoring of the annual operating budget in collaboration with the executive team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
* Monitor and forecast cash flow needs and oversee the management of both self-administered and Private Investment Management (PIM) accounts.
* Prepare and present regular and ad-hoc financial reports for internal leadership, board members, and external stakeholders including major funders and government agencies.
* Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, ensuring sufficient and appropriate internal controls and timely completion of the annual audit.
* Manage the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
* Administer the organization’s insurance programs and implement risk management strategies to protect organizational assets.
* Develop and maintain effective business policies and accounting practices that support compliance and operational efficiency.
* Provide strategic financial insights and data to the CEO, senior leadership, and Board of Directors to support informed decision-making.
* Oversee all aspects of the human resources function, including employee recruitment, hiring, compensation strategy, benefits administration, personnel record maintenance, and the preparation of offer letters, salary adjustments, and disciplinary actions, while providing ongoing guidance on HR-related matters across the organization. 
* Actively contribute as a key member of the executive management team by collaborating with staff and lay leaders, representing the company with professionalism, supporting the CEO in advancing organizational goals, participating in regular leadership and board meetings, and fulfilling additional responsibilities as needed with consistent and reliable attendance.
* Liaise with the third-party IT provider to ensure that security systems are effective and aligned with the organization’s needs, and that all technology systems adequately support day-to-day operations.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN A DIRECTOR OF FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION:
* Proven experience in financial management within the not-for-profit sector, with specialized knowledge of fund accounting is an asset. 
* Demonstrated leadership capabilities, overseeing diverse teams including finance professionals, administrative staff, and external service providers.
* Solid understanding and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) relevant to not-for-profit organizations.
* Familiarity with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regulations governing charitable organizations.
* Recognized ability to inspire and motivate teams to work collaboratively toward shared goals.
* Skilled at managing multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities with a talent for building and maintaining professional relationships.
* Appreciation for the importance and dynamics of lay/professional collaboration in organizational settings.
* Willing and able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
* Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required.
* 10+ years of experience in financial management, including expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
