We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team for a 6-week temporary position. Reporting to the Accounting Leader, the ideal candidate will be responsible for performing various accounting and clerical tasks to support the finance department and ensure accurate and efficient financial operations. 

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain vendor and client records, reconciling discrepancies as needed.
* Data Entry and Recordkeeping: Enter financial transactions into the accounting system with precision. Maintain and update financial records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
* Support Month-end and Year-end Closure: Assist in preparing financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial documents as required.
* Assist with Audits: Provide necessary documentation and support during internal and external audits.
* Continuous Process Improvement: Actively participate in identifying areas for process improvement within the accounting function. Collaborate with team members to implement efficient and effective procedures, contributing to the overall enhancement of financial processes.
* General Administrative Support: Assist in administrative tasks such as filing, answering phones, and responding to inquiries regarding financial procedures.
* Other duties as assigned.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
* Education: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred. Relevant work experience may be considered an asset in lieu of formal education.
* Experience: Prior experience in an accounting or finance role is required. Proficiency in accounting software (ie: Great Plains Dynamics) and MS Office, particularly Excel, is also required.
* Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping is essential.
* Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
* Analytical Skills: Basic analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve discrepancies.
* Team Player: Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
