YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
* Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse operations, including receiving, order picking, shipping, inventory management, and material distribution.
* Verify incoming merchandise, document discrepancies or damaged goods, and ensure accurate receipt of materials.
* Assemble customer orders and prepare shipping documentation.
* Coordinate shipments according to carrier schedules and customer requirements.
* Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, safely and efficiently.
* Assign work priorities and allocate labour and resources to support efficient warehouse operations and order fulfillment.
* Ensure warehouse administration, including data entry and paperwork, is completed accurately and according to company procedures.
* Promote and enforce workplace safety rules and regulations.
* Recruit, train, and conduct performance reviews for warehouse personnel.
* Manage the flow of labour and products throughout the warehouse to maximize space, resources, and efficiency.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives within warehouse operations.
* Oversee inventory activities, including physical inventory counts, inventory adjustments, freight claims, and returns.
* Oversee preventative maintenance of warehouse machinery and equipment.
* Maintain communication between warehouse operations and sales regarding capacity and service issues.
* Maintain knowledge of product lines and industry changes through ongoing learning and training.
* Provide backup support to the sales department when required.
