Join a growing and dynamic operation as the Regional Director of Operations, a foundational leadership role responsible for establishing and overseeing all operational activities within the newly formed Winnipeg region. You will provide strategic leadership to Operations Managers and field teams, driving safe, efficient, and profitable operations while ensuring service excellence, strong cost control, and continuous improvement aligned with the company’s core values. This role requires the ability to manage a complex, multi-faceted business.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
*Drive the implementation of key strategic initiatives by guiding teams, allocating resources effectively, and ensuring alignment with the company’s long-term vision and priorities.
*Translate corporate strategy into actionable regional plans, serving as the senior escalation point for operational, service, and contractual issues and driving timely, cross-functional resolution.
*Lead the end-to-end setup of a large-scale waste management division, including facility development, fleet deployment, and implementation of operational systems (GPS, RFID, routing).
*Develop and lead high-performing teams by mentoring managers, overseeing hiring and succession planning, and supporting the integration of 100+ employees while ensuring safety and cultural alignment.
*Serve as the primary liaison for municipal and commercial partners, proactively managing contract risks and contributing to RFPs and growth initiatives.
*Own regional EBITDA performance by monitoring COGS and OPEX, identifying variances, and implementing cost-control strategies.
*Partner with fleet and maintenance teams to maximize asset utilization, reduce downtime, and ensure safe, efficient operations across all facilities.
*Championing a customer-first culture by ensuring exceptional customer
service standards are being fulfilled across all divisions and supported by all staff.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
*10+ years of progressive leadership experience managing complex operations and large-scale projects
*Demonstrated experience supporting greenfield initiatives, including building operations from the ground up and driving sustainable growth.
*Proven ability to manage multi-million-dollar P&L responsibilities and consistently deliver strong financial performance.
*Established track record of leading and engaging large teams (100+ employees) in high-demand environments, while effectively addressing personnel and operational challenges with professionalism and diplomacy.
*Strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service, managing large and diverse client bases, and maintaining a positive community presence.
*Ability to develop and adapt operational plans, anticipate risks, and implement effective contingency strategies in a timely manner.
