Pipelayer - Sewer & Water Construction

Pinnacle is recruiting on behalf of a well-established Winnipeg-area underground construction contractor for an experienced Pipelayer to join their sewer and water crew.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Lay sewer, water, and storm main pipe according to plans, grade, and specifications
- Install services, manholes, catch basins, and related underground infrastructure
- Read and interpret grade stakes, blueprints, and survey information
- Work closely with excavator/backhoe operators to align and set pipe accurately
- Perform shoring, bedding, and backfill in compliance with safety standards
- Ensure proper compaction and pipe joint integrity
- Maintain a clean, safe worksite and follow all OH&S and confined space/trench safety protocols
- Working at Heights, Confined
- Assist with general labour duties as needed on site
MUST HAVES
- Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience laying sewer and water pipe (open-cut underground construction)
- Strong understanding of grade, pipe slope, and bedding/backfill requirements
- Experience working in and around trenches, comfortable with confined space protocols
- Valid Manitoba driver's license
- Confined Space, and Trenching/Excavation safety tickets an asset
- Physically able to perform manual labour in all weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well within a crew environment
