A well-established custom stair manufacturer serving homebuilders across the Winnipeg region is looking for an Operations Supervisor to take the reins on day-to-day operations. Owned and led by the same operator for decades, this is a stable, growing business built on strong local relationships and a loyal, long-tenured team.
This is a broad, high-trust mandate. The right person will run the shop floor from the office and the front lines, owning scheduling, purchasing, and client communication so ownership can stay focused where they’re most valuable: on the tools.
There’s real runway here. The company is actively investing in modernizing how it operates, and this role will play a lead part in that shift — moving job orders, drawings, and scheduling off paper and out of Word documents and into more efficient systems. This is an on-site, Monday–Friday position.
The ideal person for this role is adaptable and low-ego — someone who can move fluidly between a client email, a supplier call, and a scheduling problem without missing a beat. They’ll bring construction or trades know-how, enough to know what to look for and what questions to ask, paired with the organizational instincts to bring more structure and digital tools to a business that’s ready for them.

* Manage purchasing and vendor relationships, including tracking material pricing and maintaining inventory
* Serve as the primary point of contact for client emails, order details, and site measurements — catching the details that matter
* Cross-train team members across functions and build a plan for succession as long-tenured staff move toward retirement
* Partner with ownership on hiring decisions as the team grows
* Lead the digitization of job orders, drawings, and scheduling that currently run through Word documents and paper
* Gradually take on estimating and sales responsibilities
* Support a strong safety culture and help maintain COR certification
EXPERIENCE THAT MATTERS:
Required:
* 5+ years in a supervisory, coordination, or operations role within manufacturing, construction, or a related trades environment

* Strong, clear communicator who’s comfortable being the face of the business with clients, builders, and vendors
* Track record of training and developing team members
* Comfortable in a people- and process-focused role
Preferred:
* Background in millwork, cabinetry, or residential construction supply
* Experience modernizing or digitizing manual processes (job orders, scheduling, drawings)
