WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Prepare complete, accurate estimates from initial take-off through final bid submission
- Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to define scope and identify risks or gaps
- Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
- Build detailed cost breakdowns covering labour, material, equipment, and subcontracted work
- Track bid opportunities and manage multiple estimates and deadlines at once
- Partner with project managers and field staff to ensure a smooth handoff from estimating to execution
- Maintain and refine historical cost data to continually improve accuracy
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required
MUST HAVES
- Electrical construction experience, whether in the field as an electrician, in estimating, or both
- Solid understanding of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods in multi-family, institutional, commercial, or industrial construction
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
- Strong math and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Comfortable with estimating software and standard office applications
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines
- A team-first mindset and a genuine interest in building a long-term career with one company
