THE OPPORTUNITY:
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
* Develop accurate electrical system designs, calculations, and technical specifications with a high degree of independence
* Produce comprehensive drawing packages including layouts, design notes, and construction documentation using AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD, and Raster Design
* Perform fault current analysis and voltage drop calculations; apply working knowledge of SCCR vs. KAIC ratings
* Utilize REVIT MEP for BIM-integrated design and documentation
* Apply the National Electrical Code with confidence, exercising sound engineering judgment on code compliance decisions
* Coordinate directly with clients, contractors, and other engineering disciplines — including leading and participating in multi-discipline coordination meetings
* Present technical data clearly to both internal teams and external stakeholders
EXPERIENCE THAT MATTERS:
Required:
* Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
* 5+ years of hands-on experience in electrical systems design
* Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical; working knowledge of REVIT MEP
* Demonstrated ability to perform fault current analysis and voltage drop calculations
* Solid working knowledge of the National Electrical Code
* Experience interfacing directly with clients and contractors
* Willingness to travel within Manitoba, with occasional national travel
Preferred:
* Experience across multiple project sectors (commercial, industrial, or institutional)
* Familiarity with project scheduling tools such as Gantt charts
* Exposure to multi-discipline coordination in a consulting environment
