Join a mission-driven housing organization as Director of Tenant and Housing Services, providing senior leadership across a diverse housing portfolio, including housing operations, tenant services, and portfolio performance. You will oversee funding agreements, ensure regulatory compliance, and serve as a key liaison with external stakeholders. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
*Provide executive oversight of funding agreements, operating agreements, and partnership MOUs.
*Ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory, legislative, and funding requirements.
*Serve as the primary operational liaison with funders, housing authorities, and partner organizations.
*Lead audit preparedness, reporting integrity, and compliance monitoring activities.
*Provide strategic leadership for housing operations, including administration, leasing, maintenance oversight, and tenant services.
*Develop, implement, and continuously improve standardized operating procedures, policies, and service delivery frameworks.
*Collaborate with facilities and maintenance teams to ensure safe, well-maintained, and high-quality housing environments.
*Lead the development, management, and monitoring of operating budgets.
*Establish portfolio strategies that balance financial performance with affordability objectives and subsidy sustainability.
*Oversee organizational risk related to funding compliance, rent structures, subsidy management, and program eligibility.
*Implement mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with applicable tenancy legislation, as well as health and safety standards.
*Strengthen relationships with service providers and community partners.
*Provide leadership in resolving complex tenant, operational, and reputational issues.
*Lead, mentor, and support multidisciplinary teams. Build leadership capacity and support succession planning.
*Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across the organization.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
*7–10 years of progressive senior leadership experience in nonprofit housing, property management, or a related field, including responsibilities at a senior management level.
*Proven experience overseeing complex, multi-site housing portfolios, including affordable and mixed-income housing developments.
*Strong understanding of funding structures, regulatory requirements, and tenant-focused service delivery approaches.
*Demonstrated experience preparing and presenting reports to Boards, funding bodies, and government stakeholders.
*Advanced financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and oversight of portfolio performance.
*Strong capabilities in leadership, governance, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management.
*Ability to effectively balance operational efficiency with social impact and community outcomes.
