This is a hands-on Controller role within a small office environment supporting a real estate portfolio. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
*Process and code accounts payable invoices to the appropriate property and entity, ensuring accuracy across multiple buildings and lenders 
*Manage electronic payment processes and follow internal approval workflows for invoice sign-off 
*Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy in monthly financial statement reporting
*Support month-end and year-end processes, including preparation of year-end packages 
*Track and manage budgets and accruals across multiple properties 
*Perform bank reconciliations for multiple accounts  
*Assist with lender reporting requirements by ensuring accurate and organized financial data 
*Work with Property Management to monitor tenant accounts, including identifying and flagging returned or bounced payments 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
*5+ years of Full Cycle Accounting experience (public practice or industry experience preferred)
*CPA designation as asset but not required
*Strong understanding of financial statements, accrual accounting, and month-end/year-end processes 
*Highly self-motivated and able to work independently 
*Strong attention to detail, especially in AP and reconciliations
